Zippe has created a ‘Dynamic Preheater’ for batch and cullet, which reduces fuel-related emissions and has a higher energy efficiency.

The dynamic system is based on a fluidised bed dryer that uses hot waste gases from the furnace for an efficient heat transfer.

The system has already been successfully tested in a pilot plant in Europe.

Highlights include a compact preheating concept; an advanced system bottom with an integrated cleaning system; a cyclone separator for returning fine particles to the process; and a screw conveyor for homogeneous material recirculation.

This produces benefits such as a fast start-up and shutdown for high flexibility; lower investment and operating costs; higher energy efficiency; reduced fuel-related emissions (CO₂ and NOx); and a higher furnace capacity due to faster melting.
