Hindusthan National Glass & Industries (HNG) has reignited the furnace at its plant in Puducherry, India, after nearly a decade of dormancy.
The ceremony featured a traditional havan performed by shareholder Mihir Madhvani and HNG Managing Director Kumar Krishnan, a ritual the company described as a symbol of continuity and renewal.
This operational milestone follows HNG’s successful exit from the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) process and its acquisition by the Independent Sugar Corporation (INSCO), part of the Madhvani Group.
With a 330 tpd capacity and four production lines, the revived plant aims to reconnect South India’s beer and beverage markets.
In addition, following extensive technical rebuilds, the Rishra (West Bengal) and Rishikesh (Uttarakhand) facilities are progressing toward optimal capacity utilisation.
