Danieli has signed a contract with Henan Jiyuan Iron and Steel Group for the supply of a new 55t ECS Zerobucket electric arc furnace (EAF).
The order marks the first EAF for Henan Jiyuan and aids in the company’s transition from blast furnace steelmaking to green steel production.
The new EAF will allow Henan Jiyuan to establish a more efficient and environmentally friendly special steel production process.
Danieli highlighted that the ECS Zerobucket EAF will incorporate advanced melting technologies, including horizontal continuous scrap-charging to minimise energy losses and off-gas leakage, as well as a scrap-preheating tunnel that uses high-temperature off-gases to maximise energy recovery and reduce power consumption.
The furnace will also feature advanced automatic process control systems to optimise power input and melting parameters, ensuring stable and efficient operation.
