Welcome to the June 2026 issue of Furnaces International.

It wasn’t so long ago President Trump said he would ‘drill baby drill’ and expand the use of fossil fuels for a while longer.

Despite that claim, I don’t think the sentiment is shared among the majority of consumers, particularly the young who retain a real focus on the environment and what a future climate will be like as they grow older.

Manufacturers are under pressure from consumers to decarbonise. Consumers don’t want to buy materials which they view as unsustainable

It means furnaces providers are under pressure to find alternative fuels to power their ovens as soon as they can.

In this issue we highlight some of the work which has been done to decarbonise the industrial process.
