Welcome to the December issue of Furnaces International.

It has been another rollercoaster year for those who work in industry, one dominated by tariffs, trade talks and Trump.

The issue of tariffs was introduced at the start of 2025 and has rumbled on throughout the year as each country negotiates its own specific tariff.

There looks to be more impact to business next year with the introduction of the CBAM legislation in January.

The latest CBAM documents were only released on December 17, giving businesses just two weeks over the holiday period to analyse the papers before the legislation starts – good luck to anyone who has to do that.
