One of the product ranges of CUMI is Fused Alumina-Zirconia 40% (AZ40) grains for Refractory Applications. CUMI’s Materials technology team have developed a completely new and advanced version of Alumina-Zirconia (AZ40) grains named “MARLIN”, which is manufactured through a highly controlled solidification route using electric arc furnaces. This process creates regular eutectic microstructures containing alternate alumina and zirconia and novel “cube-shaped” eutectic crystals.

Due to this, by gaining the full inherent properties of Alumi- num Oxide (Al2O3) and Zirconium Oxide (ZrO2) – CUMI’s Mar- lin AZ40 grains enables an Excellent Wear resistance, Spalling resistance & Thermal Shock resistance - which makes Marlin AZ40 grains an ideal choice of mineral for Refractories. CUMI AZ40 Marlin grains has proved its performances for Refractories applications in Ferrous Industries – Example: Continuous casting refractories.
CUMI AZ40 Marlin grains can be offered in standard refracto- ry grain size fractions such as 1-3 mm, 3-5 mm, 0.5-1 mm etc. Other size fractions (or) customised particle size distribution can be offered based on requirements.
